Being Intentional In Daily Life, Help Rediscover the purpose in daily routine
Mindfulness for experienced professionals struggling with their purpose.
The career as a term can be such a misnomer. It is supposed to give an individual a purpose and a sense of fulfilment. Instead, most of us tend to tiptoe around a successful career to rediscover a sense of purpose.
Here are a few things to find out if you are stuck in such a loop -

Work over Passion
It starts to feel like a series of tasks being accomplished for a larger entity than your own self.
The innocent curiosity of a fresh start has long since faded.
The career you started as a passion, is starting to feel more like a day job.
Breaks or Vacations
The much-needed vacation starts to take shape in your head as a much-needed break.
It’s the frequency of these breaks instead of excitement to explore something new.
Change in Habits
This one is tricky. We don’t even realize but over the years the change in our habits reveals so much about ourselves.
Some are for good while some demand a retrospective look.
The way I look at it is that any habit intentionally picked up or given up is a sign of a healthy mind.
Here are some simple activities to find your way back to being intentional -
The 3 R’s
Reading, Running, Replaying
The more I got stuck in a routine loop, the more I realized that a simple habit of running refreshed my mind to a great extent.
My refreshed mind began to pick up which is now a Reading habit.
The one intentional thing I do is replay my week, my month, and my year periodically which helps me have a retrospective look at my routine.
Hobbies
As a professional, I was so caught up with my career, that the thought of trying new sports or a hobby never crossed my mind.
When you feel stuck, dust off those old shelves and boxes and find out if there’s a sports certificate you were proud of but never looked back on.
Give it a go, suck at it, give it another go.
Journaling & Meditation
The one habit I never thought I will ever pick up but now I swear to live by it every day—the reason for my rediscovered passion for putting thoughts on blank paper.
The best 10 minutes that I spend in a day are true for myself.
Finally, there are many reasons why we get stuck in a loop, professional or personal. I hope these points resonate with you and make you reflect on your routine.
