3 Simple Ways To Clear a Mind With a Hike to Beautiful Landscapes of Zugspitze

A stranger’s push can break the barrier separating the subtle reality from the oblivious memories.

The fleeting nostalgia accompanying the bittersweet moments is rarely an occasion to savour or even to eagerly anticipate.

Here I am strutting my way through crowded stations and hotel lobby, dancing between well-planned routes and on-the-fly adventures, only to quench the thirst of my camera & lens for breathtaking views.

I have grown to anticipate and give in to the cravings and in the process develop a keen sense of eye for the perfect symmetry in nature.

Let’s make our way through to the crystal-clear lake Eibsee at the foot of the Zugspitze.

Fog of a Routine

I am lost in the white noise beaming through my headphones. The day job seldom permits me to dream.

I am a rebel. A Daydreamer. I am always looking to get lost in the soothing arms of nature or the wilderness of a city. Somewhere eager to add to my journal of memories.

I carry my journal of memories with me everywhere I go, making sure I replace the unwanted with the necessary and the unpleasant with the pleasant.

My camera, my trusted companion, always makes sure I capture enough to never regret.

Here I am walking the circular trail of Lake Eibsee.

I hope that the fog of this early morning walk through the woods will bury the foggy memories of my everyday corporate work routine.

Top of the Mountain, Into the Cloud 9

Cable cars always intrigued me.

They seem to be this wonky carrier attached to a wire that is barely designed to hold a handful of people, yet it is the trusted mode of transport to reach atop the Zugspitze.

The barely visible mountaintop intrigued me, the clouds surrounding it seemed to be more inviting.

The cable car blended into the clouds, just like my mind.

What is Zugspitze?

At 2962 meters, Zugspitze is the highest mountain peak in Germany. It is not just popular for that, believe me. It is popular for the unique 360º view of Germany, Austria and Italy, on a very clear day.

It is a hotspot for skiing for the locals in the winter.

In summer though, as I have learned, hiking is one of the favorite kinds of sport in Germany.

Clear Skies, Clear Mind

The world looks a lot smaller from the top and with it so do all the problems.

I argue with myself, on a clear day, whether the problems are in my head or with the outside world. I rarely tend to win those arguments into a conclusion.

The thoughts in the head battling with each other are nothing but memories crying out loud for attention. The top of Zugspitze provides an ideal spot for retrospection.

Being Present, Acknowledging the Touristy Way

The funny thing about a settled mind is that it starts to acknowledge the basic things around us.

Being in Eibsee, the most obvious views around me could only be termed as spectacular. The lake in its glorious clear water provides an ideal spot to self-reflect.

Memories Overflow

Spending time in nature pushes me to think beyond the norm and routine.

Nature in all its glory can provide a tremendous escape.

Making new memories are clear way to wipe out the old mundane ones that seem to drag on, just like the self-reflecting clear water of a lake.

Parting Thoughts

Travel is a wonderful way not just to make new memories but to also overwrite the old ones.
