3 Cultural Attractions to Enjoy on the Grand Budapest Photo Walk
A city full of beautiful structures, mesmerizing landscapes, rich history & fascinating street art

Summers are full of anticipations. The planning churn wheel is at full speed. The only sane thing to do is to get on board and plan to the heart’s content.
Being in Central Europe allows me a unique opportunity to look in any direction to find a historical place to explore and fulfil my curious mind. Although Budapest is not exactly a stone’s throw from Munich, it makes for a smooth journey and not too tiring via the railways.
The plan is to spend the next four days photo-walking through this beautiful city split by the river Danube.

Let’s have a test shot to warm up my Fujifilm X-E4 and 18-55mm lens.
It has been a very recent shift to a full-fledged thoughtful approach to photography. In an effort to make the most of the incredible cultural landscape of the city, I needed to be familiar with the new sets of tools at my disposal.
The weather seemed to be holding on, more so it looked inviting with bright rays of sunshine.
Eagle’s View of the Danube River

The grand city of Budapest in all its glory is best viewed from the Buda Castle or Fisherman’s Bastion.
The best way to get around is the lovely yellow trams crawling through the streets of Buda & Pest. The Commuter card covers all major transportation choices in the city. The commute gives a good sneak peek into the life of the people.
I was getting a feel for the city. A short stop at many street food vendors for a coffee and Langos, to be topped up with lots of cheese and grabbed a chimney cake to go.
Hiking for Beautiful Views
The walk up to Buda Castle is strenuous. The late afternoon heat can make it exhausting. Once up there, much is forgotten for the grand view of the city.
There are avenues to get the best capture for everyone’s liking. Even with the hot summer sun, I was able to capture the landscape to my liking.
My Fujifilm X-E4 made clicking pictures a thing of joy and the 18-55m lens gave me enough flexibility on the depth.
Settle into a Blissful Evening under the Starry Skies
While the hike up to Buda Castle can be exhausting, walks in the hot sun can get draining, but the lively evenings would more than makeup for it.
A walk by the Danube River with a detour across Heroes’ Square does well to highlight the rich history of the city.
Below are some photos of the evening.

The Street Art & and the Photography

The mesmerising streets of Budapest will make you wonder about art and its place in the urban landscape.
You can tell a lot about the history of the city from its architecture but its character truly shines in the food and street art. The people and the art in public spaces tell a lot about the ethos of the people.
While I cooled down for the day, I was able to capture some quirky shots of the street art.
The Tribute on the Danube River

Any discussion about Budapest cannot be complete without mentioning one memorial.
The widely known tragedy has evidence in plenty. This tribute to the lives lost is as unique as I have ever seen. I decided to dwell on the moment and take in the scenery of many people paying their respects to the place.
A city with a history as long as time itself, it is heartening to see it reflected in the culture even now.
Thank you for spending the time to read through this photo journal. The recent travels are very dear to me so be on the lookout for more stories and photos about Budapest
