Here’s a random thought that has nothing to do with AI yet everything to do with how we relate to technology -

Do we as humans get attached with things coz they make our lives easier or is it coz we value the connection that comes with anything that evokes emotions in us?

Good measure of success for AI will be how well it makes us humans feel connected to it. So far, the makers and the product both seem disconnected and devoid of capability to make us feel any connections to it.

I like that technology makes my job easier but I hate it when it takes away the joy of reading Murakami for the tenth time or the patience required for the perfectly imperfect photograph I planned in my head.
AI can summarize and generate each of these but then why would I allow it to take that joy away from my hobbies?

Here’s a worrying thought -

Technology, today is sold by people that have lost any perspective of life, as we live. It is the constant lies and fear mongering peddled by the makers to scare the masses into changing their way of life, just so they validate their ideas and dollars.

Creativity comes from constraints and the creators of AI are selling us a dream where there are no frictions to our lives.
